Writing III: first assignment: write about the summer holiday

  1. Draw a mind map about your summer holiday. This should only take a few minutes.

  2. Get together with a partner and interview each other about your holidays. Exchange notebooks (or cards or pieces of paper if you don't have a notebook yet) so that your partner can make notes about you as he or she listens to you. This should only take about 3-4 minutes each.

  3. Are there any words you really need to know to talk or write about your holiday? If so, ask your teacher. In your mind, go through some of the sentences you can say about your holiday.

  4. Now you are well prepared to write about your holiday. You are going to write quite freely for 10 minutes without worrying about mistakes. So log in to blogger.com and open a window for blogging. Remember you are just going to write as much as possible and then post it after 10 minutes. If you don't like it you can go back and edit it later. So check the time and give yourself 10 minutes or less to write.

  5. When the 10 minutes is up, stop writing and post to your blog. If there's enough time, open your blog in a new tab and read your post, and change anything that you don't like. If there isn't enough time now, you can do this later.
