Ice cream

Satoko says that she likes ice cream, but usually chooses cheaper ones. I agree that good ice cream in Japan is very expensive. After all, it's made from milk and eggs and sugar, all cheap ingredients. Yet it costs more than 250 yen for a small pot. I guess I'm used to paying that much for special Haagen-Dazs or Fauchon flavors, but recently in a Daily store I saw ice cream from Okinawa made with vegetable fat on sale at 263 yen. And the price of the Haagen-Dazs parfaits is ridiculous, I think (maybe 400 yen?). This would be OK in a restaurant, but for a plastic container from a convenience store it seems so strange.
