Tournament, and other matters

I played in my 2nd table tennis tournament last weekend. My team came 4th in our group of 4, but I was quite happy because I won 1 match, lost 1, and drew 1. This was much better than my first tournament, where I lost all my matches.

The Japan soccer team went to South Africa last week, to play a friendly match there. The result was 0-0. Many commentators were very disappointed, because Japan had seemed to be making a lot of progress, but their attacking play wasn't very interesting this time.

In other soccer news, Ireland lost to France, so they will not go through to the World Cup. France's winning goal came from a handball, so they feel very disappointed and angry.
